She ROCKS Supports Local Fund for Gynecologic Cancer
The New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) Foundation has received the first contribution from She ROCKS toward a $100,000 endowment commitment to launch a new fund to support patients with gynecologic cancer.
The NHRMC Foundation’s She ROCKS Gynecologic Oncology Patient Fund will support the financial, emotional and medical needs of patients with gynecologic cancer who are served by NHRMC, including Zimmer Cancer Center.
“We are profoundly grateful to She ROCKS for this generous commitment that will bring meaningful support to patients in our community for years to come,” said Henry Hawthorne, administrator of oncology for NHRMC.
She ROCKS exists to bring awareness and attention to ovarian cancer through funding groundbreaking research and by helping patients who are undergoing treatment for cancer in the Wilmington and Triad regions of North Carolina.
“We are proud to partner with Novant Health and New Hanover Regional Medical Center and their caring providers and teams to help further our mission to support patients undergoing cancer treatment,” said Brittany Fountain, interim board chair of She ROCKS.
