With cases of depression and anxiety in children on the rise, the foundation is funding creative and effective ways to respond faster to potential mental health issues as soon as there is a warning sign. In collaboration with Brunswick County Schools, Novant Health helps provide treatment to middle-school students with behavioral and substance abuse disorders. Now, thanks to a grant from the Duke Endowment directed through Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation, five schools will have secure, private tele-health devices to serve students in crisis whenever a teacher observes mental distress.
