Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center Expansion

Overview

Novant Health relentlessly pursues remarkable care every day, so our patients can expect the compassionate, expert, personal experience they deserve. We focus on world-class care, purposeful innovation, access for all and human-centeredness. Our doctors, nurses, technicians and support personnel are purpose-driven people, inspired and united by our passion to care for each other, our patients and our communities.

Patients at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center have experienced remarkable care for the past 10 years. We are a place where Good Things Grow. With our 10th anniversary, our team of experts is poised to take on a bold expansion into the future.

Guilford and eastern Forsyth counties are experiencing rapid change, with population growth, new schools and changing neighborhoods. In order to meet the needs for our growing community, Kernersville Medical Center is also growing. Our goal is to offer comprehensive care for patients in our region. We want to nurture our community by providing care close to home.

Kernersville Medical Center is Undertaking Growth in Three Key Areas:

Remarkable care begins with putting our patients first. We’re enhancing heart and vascular services in the region with angiography procedures and the addition of new doctors who offer specialties to provide a continuum of care. A new catheterization lab at Kernersville Medical Center will allow for advanced heart and vascular procedures to care for a growing and aging population. The expansion will include new pre and post procedure rooms in addition to the lab, allowing for staffing efficiencies and improving patient flow.

We make the patient experience a strategic goal and the emphasis pays off — in faster healing and better adherence to follow-up recommendations. Patients will be able to stay close to home for their advanced heart and vascular needs.

blankA growing population means new families moving to our region. Therefore, Kernersville Medical Center is adding a birthing center, designed to promote a nurturing and calming environment for new mothers and babies. A local alternative to larger hospitals, our new birthing center will feature natural lighting and family support spaces in addition to a host of services, including prenatal classes, facility tours and lactation support.

blankAll of the labor and delivery rooms will be equipped with soaking tubs for laboring mothers who seek pain relief and comfort. This new facility is designed with the comfort of the patient in mind and our caregivers will be closer to our patients, giving them the human-centered experience that is part of our promise.

With the expected growth in this part of the Triad, Kernersville Medical Center will also add inpatient beds for medical needs as well as intensive care. COVID-19 has taught us the importance of access to critical care right in our communities. In order to keep patients close to home, Kernersville Medical Center is adding four beds in our intensive care unit. As the population grows and ages, residents will benefit from acute care services right in their backyard.
