Women’s Council

Supporting Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation

The Women’s Council of Forsyth Medical Center Foundation is a group of dynamic women who are passionate about improving their health and the health of other women in the community through education and support of critical Novant Health initiatives.

Formed in 2009, this group of passionate women has donated over $1 million to projects that improve the health of women across our region.  A critical supporter of the Novant Health Maya Angelou Women’s Health & Wellness Center at Forsyth Medical Center, the Women’s Council most recently provided funding for the following:

  • Family Connects
  • A licensed clinical social worker for Today’s Woman
  • Medication and transportation expenses for women with gynecologic cancers

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Women’s Council embarked on its biggest initiatives: raising funds for a new mobile mammogram unit. This unit will help more women in greater Winston-Salem take charge of their breast health. No matter a woman’s financial circumstances, insurance coverage or means of transportation, she should have access to remarkable care. A mammogram can mean the difference between life and death, but this basic healthcare service is beyond the reach of many women in our community. While the campaign is now complete, you can support screenings by donating here.

Interested in joining the Women’s Council? Members can choose their level of involvement and membership includes: three educational meetings a year, one vote on annual philanthropy proposals, an invitation to the Garden Party and the opportunity to network with other women who are passionate about women’s health.

Annual dues are $100. Click here to join.
