The Health Education and Wellness Center campaign
The Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation has launched a campaign to create a Health Education and Wellness Center on campus to expand current programs and meet the needs of our community as defined in the Davidson County Community Health Needs Assessment Study. Thanks to the generosity of the Doak Finch Foundation, Dr. David Williams and other supporters, we have raised $50,000 to our $3.5 million goal.
The first step is acquiring an adjacent 18,000 square foot building, 3.5 acres of land and an additional 125 parking spaces. This property is located at 203 Old Lexington Road in Thomasville, NC. The foundation will secure the building and property from current foundation assets. A capital campaign will be undertaken to raise $3.5 million for the building and property renovations.
Following renovation, Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center anticipates possibly relocating the following services: cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, occupational medicine, diabetes education, and an intensive outpatient behavioral health clinic. Additionally, health education and wellness classes will also be offered to the public. The project will also include a demonstration kitchen for newly diagnosed diabetic patients as well as health and nutrition classes for the public.
The purchase and renovation of the building would not only provide expanded space for the above mention programs but would allow for the backfiill of space in the medical center for the expansion of surgical services, the breast center and space for other support services.
Your donation to our campaign will help us achieve these goals and, most important, help us improve and save lives across our community.
