External grant funding facilitates exceptional activities beyond the healthcare system’s annual operating budget. Novant Health provides hundreds of millions of dollars in community benefit each year, which includes:
- Unreimbursed health services to individuals with Medicaid and Medicare coverage
- Community health education
- Support groups
- Community events and screenings
- Participation in medical research and academic health programs
A significant percentage of our partners’ funding strengthens these efforts, particularly healthcare for the uninsured and underserved.
