Colon Cancer Coalition grants $22,000 to Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation
Funds will support for preventative colon cancer screenings for underserved patients in Forsyth County
Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation received a $22,000 grant from the Colon Cancer Coalition through money raised at a Get Your Rear in Gear® event in Winston-Salem. The new partnership between Forsyth Medical Center Foundation and the Colon Cancer Coalition will fund colonoscopy screenings for low-income, underserved colorectal cancer patients in Forsyth County.
“Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States,” said David Hiller M.D., a colon and rectal cancer surgeon at Forsyth Medical Center. “When found early, colorectal cancer is highly treatable. Our new partnership with Colon Cancer Coalition will save lives in Forsyth and the surrounding counties.”
