‘You have to have a heart for the work’

The past two months have been the busiest of Heather Egan’s entire career. She’s always worked with nonprofits, raising the necessary funds to support their work and their mission. And she’s long been driven by passion.

Celebrating our exceptional nurses

To celebrate National Nurses Week this year, we spotlighted eight inspiring nurses from throughout the Novant Health system. Each nurse was selected based on their dedication to providing remarkable care, and for going above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finding purpose in a pandemic

The patient couldn’t breathe. He had come into the emergency room still able to speak. Then, all of a sudden, he was slipping in and out of consciousness. It all felt like a dream. But somewhere in that dream, he knew Amanda Chilton would do whatever it took to save him.

‘I had no choice but to beat this.’

Dr. Patricia Flowers was religious about her mammograms. She had been since she turned 32. Then, in the summer of 2014, she found a lump in her breast. Her annual mammogram was just a few weeks away, but she decided to move it up.

Driving remarkable care

We want our patients and their guests to know your feedback is important to us and through our patient satisfaction surveys, we heard there is a critical need for transportation within and outside of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Pay it forward

At Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation, we are advocates for the power of mammograms for every woman, regardless of her ability to pay. That’s why we work every day to increase access to mammograms for under and uninsured women across our region.

Caring for our most fragile patients

“There were times when I wondered if I would have 10 more minutes or two more days with him,” recalls Jenn. “The entire NICU staff was amazing. They loved Lane as much as we loved him.”
