1st annual Jane Burt Williams Memorial Golf Classic
Thomasville, NC– This year the foundation renamed the annual fundraising event to memorialize a dedicated community member. The 1st annual Jane Burt Williams Memorial Golf Classic is named after the devoted, late wife of Dr. David Robert Williams, Sr. Mrs. Williams was a servant leader, known for her humbleness and caring spirit. Her devotion to serving the community through countless hours was simply remarkable.
The Jane Burt Williams Memorial Golf Classic was held on Friday, October 6, at the Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC. A 1:00pm shotgun start, was followed by a fun afternoon of great golf, delicious food, and beverages. There was a total of 110 players. Jon Applebaum, President and COO, Thomasville Medical Center was the guest putter for the hole in one contest on #18 green. The overall tournament team winners were Dr. Mark Smith, Marcus Smith, Eric Lance and Jason Gentile. Congrats!
The tournament raised $33,000 which will be used to renovate an existing building on the campus of Thomasville Medical Center. Once completed the Center for Health Education will be dedicated to furthering health education and wellness in Davidson County and the surrounding community.
