When you walk into a Novant Health clinic, hospital or practice, the care you receive is shaped by something bigger than any single visit. It is shaped by a culture of generosity that lives in the hearts of our team members. That spirit is at the center of Giving. Serving. Together., our team member giving campaign.
Each year, thousands of team members could choose to give back through philanthropy and service. They support patient assistance programs, team member well-being funds and community initiatives that help our neighbors thrive. Side by side with donors like you, they are building a stronger, more resilient system of care.
A campaign designed by and for our team
Giving. Serving. Together. was created with team members in mind. It is an invitation for our 42,000 employees to make an impact in a way that is meaningful to them, whether that means supporting patients, team members or their community.
Through the campaign, team members can choose to:
- Support patient-focused funds that provide transportation, food, medication assistance and access to care
- Give to funds that strengthen team member well-being and provide emergency support during times of crisis
- Invest in community initiatives that extend remarkable care beyond our walls
Across our organization, photos and videos from this year’s campaign captured a consistent theme. Team members spoke about why they give, why they serve, and how it feels to be part of a workforce that not only delivers care but also stands behind it with personal generosity.
Liz’s story: From receiving help to giving back
For Liz, a team member at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Giving. Serving. Together. is deeply personal.

“I received help about 8–9 years ago when I was a single mom with three kids, doing everything I could to make ends meet,” she shared. “The support I received from the foundation was a true blessing. It showed me that it’s okay to ask for help and that there is no judgment, just genuine care.”
That experience stayed with her. The privacy given to her, paired with the compassion behind the support, made it possible for Liz to ask for help without fear or shame.
Now she gives back through the same campaign that once supported her.
“The Employee Emergency Fund helped me years ago when I truly needed it,” Liz said. “I want to help someone else who may be going through a difficult time, just like I once was.”
Her story reflects what many of our team members know to be true. Life can change quickly. A single unexpected bill or crisis can shift everything. When that happens, having a safety net says something powerful. It tells our team members that they are not alone.

Across the system, team members participated in campus events, watched campaign videos, shared stories on internal platforms and signed up to give through payroll deduction or one-time gifts.
