Patient Assistance Fund

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation’s Patient Assistance program serves to help our patients in times of need. It will cover the cost of transportation, lodging, medical equipment and other necessities for patients who do not have the means to pay. This can be due to a variety of situations such as being uninsured, underinsured, lack of income or a major life event.

As one of two hospitals in a largely rural county, Brunswick Medical Center is often a safety net provider for the uninsured and underinsured. The foundation has spent thousands on cab rides for patients who could not afford ground transportation to leave the hospital after treatment or a procedure.

The Patient Assistance Fund will help eliminate some of the worry that is associated with a hospital stay. On an individual basis, our case management team will determine the need for financial assistance based on qualifying criteria.
